I Love Sundays

As I have grown up I have come to love Sundays! Some people probably think we are crazy for spending 3 hours at church, but I look forward to that time of learning and renewal. Sunday is the day I take a break from the crazy schedule of everyday life, there are no errands to run, no meetings and appointments, just time to focus on my faith, family and personal goals.



Another favorite (especially on a cold winter day): Sunday naps! Today the boys wanted to take a "family nap" in my bed and I didn't argue! They both brought their pillows in and we snuggled under a comfy blanket. Love these do nothing days!

Honoring Our Beloved Prophet

Many of you may know that the President of our church, Gordon B. Hinckley, passed away last Sunday night at the age of 97 years old.

When Stephanie called me that morning to tell me of his passing, instead of sadness I felt a peace and gratitude. This man lived an amazing life and was a great example to me, serving his Lord and fellowman. I feel blessed to have been alive during his leadership. He is a great example to all people and loved by all who knew him or of him. For more on this man's life visit here. His life is truly an example to all of us!

Funeral services were held yesterday in Salt Lake City and broadcast around the country. Ty and I had the opportunity to attend the broadcast at our church and then we had a "date" after with ice cream on the carousel at Malley's. What a wonderful day!

Ty wanted a turn as the photographer. He took better ones, but they showed my "pregnancy fat face" too much!

Snowman

My sister always puts together the cutest theme gifts. This Christmas her gift for the boys was "snow" themed: snowball makers, a snowman kit, snow painting kit, an igloo brick mold, a super cool sled and cute snowmen books.

Unfortunatly, our winter has been totally lame for playing in the snow. There hasn't been much snow and when there is it has been way too cold to go outside. So FINALLY Monday there was snow on the ground (sort of) and it was actually sunny and almost warm (47!) and the snow was perfect for packing!! The boys had a blast making snowballs and a snowman with our neighbor. Carter was so proud of his snowman and periodically talked to him through out the rest of the day. He cried when he melted last night!

Birthday Celebrations

This past Friday was a big birthday celebration day at our house. Not only was it my birthday (one more year until the big one!), it was Ty's day to celebrate his birthday at school. Since his birthday is during summer break they let him celebrate his "half" birthday. He was so excited that it was on the same day as mine, but made me promise I would not do any celebrating until he came home from school.

When I asked Ty what he wanted to bring to school as his birthday treat he said, "I know, let's make a craft!"

"Okay, what kind of craft?"

"We'll get paper and cut out snowflakes for everyone and then we'll decorate them, and then..."

Is he so my child or what? Since I wasn't really up for making a winter craft for all 25 students, I convinced him that chocolate covered pretzels would be really great too. Ty agreed only because he got to put the sprinkles on.

I celebrated my birthday with my family at my parents. We had a delicious dinner and our family's traditional birthday cake: "Aunt Beth" cake. Love it!!!

I know I still have four months but,

I have been totally stressing over what bedding to put in the baby's room. I just could not find anything I loved. If I could afford it was too "cutsy" or frilly or had some character on it. The only ones I really liked were too much money and I didn't even love those. Keith will totally make fun of me, but I was even losing sleep over it!

I finally decided to bid on one I found on ebay that I really liked, but wasn't exactly what I wanted. Last night with 31 seconds to go, I was outbidded. I was totally bummed, but it turned out to be the best thing!

I am SO EXCITED now, because I finally decided to just custom make my own (well, with the help of my mom and mother-in-law of course)! I was going to use Amy Butler fabrics, because I love hers, but then I found these websites (Polka Tot Designs and Javis Davis) with exactly what I wanted!! (Whitney, you need to check them out!) I just sent away for the swatches and can not wait! I have it all planned out in my head and am dying to get started!!! I'll post samples when I get them.

What we've been up to

For some reason I haven't been able to post pictures the last couple days, so here is a quick recap all rolled into one.


Last weekend our friends, Yvonne and Brian, brought over their new little puppy, Lola, over to meet the boys and play. Lola is adorable and the boys loved her. Carter made sure that he always knew where she was and loved holding her.

I told Yvonne she is going to make a great mom one day with all the stuff she brought with her for Lola. Carting a baby around will be no big deal. The boys got a kick out of the puppy in a playpen!

Last week was also Carter's "talent show" at Little Gym. He was so excited to show off in front of his Dad and Grandma and Grandpa. This boy loves the Little Gym!

Saturday Ty tested for his blue tip for Tae Kwon Do. (One more tip and he will be able to test for his yellow belt). He was so cute and did such a great job! His favorite part: breaking the board. This time he broke the board with a front snap kick. Once dismissed he ran off the floor right to Carter to show off his board. So cute. Carter loved watching his big brother perform!

After the testing I talked Keith in to a trip to the mall (I know shocker right there!) to buy our first pink outfit with "Gymbucks" I had. Okay, so the whole girl thing may not have completely sunk in yet, but it was really fun to go over to the girl side of Gymboree for once! I found some cute outfits on the sale for next winter. I'm totally getting the bug to make bows now--Yea!

Carter woke up with a bad eye infection Monday so we have been trying to lay low and nurse a eye and ear infection. Just hoping Ty doesn't get it next. Spent most of today in the basement playing Wii and scrapbooking.

We got a special surprise today, a good friend of ours, Kirk, that we haven't seen since shortly after we got married, flew in from Utah for a quick one night business stay, so we were able to skip work and go to breakfast with him.

Tonight my cute friends treated me to a super good dinner at a new Italian restaurant. Delicious. It's not often that the four of us get a chance to get together without kids (well, Julia was there, but 7 week olds don't count)! Thanks girls for a fun night and thanks Keith for holding down the fort back home!

The Results Are In...

Most of you know that today was the big day for us. I told Keith I think my friends were more excited than us to find out. I've gotten calls all morning--which I love by the way!! Makes me feel loved!

So...any guesses? Does the new background give it away? Yep, you guessed it. The newest Bielozer is a girl!!!!! It hasn't really sunk in yet, but I'm sure when it does Keith better watch out because there's going to be a whole lot of pink!!

Ty was so excited for me to come home from the appointment with pictures and was truly thrilled when I told him it was a girl (I warned him we won't be sure until the baby's actually here). He can't wait for "Sissy" (he has already named her) to arrive!

How is Keith handeling it?, you are all probably wondering. He's been really quiet. I asked if he was okay with it and he said of course and that he had a feeling this one was a girl. I think he's just calculating all it's going to cost him!!

So that's our news. Yea!!!!!

Honey Do List

One of my New Year's resolutions is to post more, so here I am.

As I'm posting I'm watching my Tivo recording of this past Monday's Dance War (little bummed that Gray's is a rerun again), and am LOVING it! Seriously loving all these dance shows lately! If you haven't watched it yet (I missed the first week), you have to catch it next week.

Keith and I are just trying to get a grasp on all of the home improvement projects coming up. The laundry room is almost completely moved upstairs. Just waiting for the final plumbing that will be done tomorrow. It looks awesome and I can't wait to have it all upstairs!! Keith has done an amazing job!! We planned out the cabinets (almost) for the mudroom today, so as soon as the laundry room is done, on to project number two (which I'm even more excited about).

We ordered Carter's big boy bedroom furniture this week. Can't believe my little guy is going to be in a big boy bed soon and a new room--I'm so not ready for this! It hit me just this past week or so that he is growing up and not my little baby anymore. Totally sad! Yes we went with bunk beds, yes I'm crazy and yes, I will be hiding the ladder for awhile. Now trying to decide what color/design to pant the walls. Project number 3!Project number 4? That all depends on tomorrow and what the ultrasound technition tells us. Pink or blue? Waiting to see if we need to redo the nursery or not. Totally have no gut feelings one way or the other. I'm so anxious to know. Part of my totally wants to have three boys. I love the way my two guys play together and are best buds and kind of like the idea of having all boys. The other part of me totally has a need for pink and bows and all those cute outfits. Less than 24 hours now!

Sorry, I know it's a totally boring post, but I wasn't in the mood for a "travel log" today.

New Years Eve

Keith and I both agree that New Years Eve is totally overrated (I probably said that in last year's post!) When you are single you stress about you are going to do and it always ends up not as "great" as you thought it should be. So we haved decided to just spend New Years Eves with our family and it has been great!




This year we had a fondue party and Wii tournament with my family at our house and it was so much fun.



Everyone had a great time...except for dad. This was him before the food was even ready.

Kalahari

For part of my parents Christmas gift to everyone, they took the entire familiy (plus Jimmy of course) to the country's biggest indoor waterpark. It was so fun!! The boys absolutely loved our mini vacation. Ty was in heaven at the huge water jungle-gym/tree house and the "big boy" slides that he could do all by himself. His favorite though? Probably the wave pool. He thought it was great. He and Grandma had a blast in intertubes. He was non stop energy from the moment we got there to the moment we left the next day. We hardly got any pictures of him because he was on the go the whole time!

Carter found the kids section and wasn't going to leave. He loved the slides, the swings, the tunnels...everything. He played non-stop until 6:30 the first day and then it was lights out on dad in the wave pool.

Grandma had fun on the slides too!

The greatest thing about the place was that their was something for everyone. Tons to keep the boys busy plus tons of slides for the "big boys." They named their favorite ride the "toilet bowl." In addition to the rides, the big boys also tried the surfing (let's just say they won't be planning any surfing trips to Hawaii anytime soon!).

The two days we spent their were an awesome get away. The lodge was beautiful and we had a great time when we weren't swimming too. It was filled with putt-putt, an arcade, several restaurants, candy shops, a huge play ground, and an awesome three bedroom suite. It was a wonderful gift and we had a great time together as a famil.

Good Bye 2007

Each year I make a video montage for my family with my favorite pictures from the past year. Some are my favorite because of how cute they are, others because of the event or moment they represent. I had so much trouble posting my last year's video I did a simple one on the web so I could post it here. Now, I'm not arrogant enough to believe that anyone besides maybe my parents and sister are really going to sit and watch 10 minutes of my family, but just in case you are bored at work or something...here you go...
