Mother's Day Call

My brother, Chase, left this past December to serve a two-year mission for our church in Bolivia. While on a mission, missionaries are allowed to call home on Christmas and Mother's Day (they can email and write the rest of the year). So, this Mother's Day was pretty special to us.

After we finished the Animal Kingdom, we all went back to my parent's room for our call to Chase. We each took turns talking to him (and sometimes all talked at once). It was so nice to hear his voice and fun to hear him speak his new language! We each had a million questions for him and he shared with us all about the country he is in and people he has met. He told us for a special Mother's Day meal they were served cow's tongue for dinner--yummy! Ty was most interested in knowing if he had seen any more pigs in the streets.

I know we all (especially my parents) were happy to hear his voice and be reassured that he is okay! We are so proud of him for his decision to serve a mission and know that he is and is going to be an awesome missionary!!

Our good friend Jimmy had come up from Fort Meyer's with his friend to visit and talk to Chase, so after the phone call we all went out for burgers and ice cream. Sorry Jimmy, but Five Guys was very overrated. Good company though.

After dinner we came home and pranked Chase. Not sure that is allowed, but very funny. The girls stayed up late with Jimmy and his friend laughing and practicing our dance moves--I'm a pro at the c-walk (just ask Jimmy), Whitney learned Chicken Noodle Soup and Jimmy entertained us with his own moves.
