Busy Saturday

Saturday was a busy, but fun day. Keith's been working on the pile of mulch in our driveway for a week now and was finally able to finish laying it all in the yard--with the help fom a very cute 1 1/2 year old. Carter is totally on a Daddy kick right now and has to be by his side at all times. He spends his days while Keith's at work carrying Keith's shoes around calling "Dad-dy, Dad-dy."

Next--Ty's second soccer game. I was so happy I could make this one! Ty actually does really well. He listens to the coach and really concentrates on learning the new skills. He told Keith and I he scored a goal--but apparently we missed it! He did, however, get a penatly for pushing (thanks to Keith's advice last week)! So fun to watch and think of all the future sporting events I'm going to be attending. This is only the beginning I'm sure!

My mom surprised us in the afternoon with an offer for free babysitting--how could we pass that up?! Keith and I went to Brio (one of my favorite restaurants) for dinner, where we ran in to our good friends, Yvonne and Brian. We were able to spend a nice, unexpected evening with some good friends--and no kids!!! After dinner Keith and I ran over to church for a regional meeting--again so enjoyable with no kids. We were actually able to hear the speakers! Thanks mom for the nice treat. (And the boys loved having Grandma over to babysit!)

Keith had been promising Ty a sleepover all day, so after church we ran home to see if he was awake. Ty had been on his best behavior all day, anticipating this event. When we got home he was waiting with his "sleepover game" all set up. The two played their game, ate popcorn, watched a movie and slept on the air matress in the basement. (I wasn't allowed because I'm a girl. When asked if I could participateTy said, "No thank you.") So fun to watch my boys bond. Keith is such a good dad to these guys. We are so lucky!

Flashback Friday

My friend does "flashback Friday's" and I love the idea, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Since we are gearing up for our Disney trip next week, I've been thinking a lot about how fun our last trip was.

We went two years ago, right before Ty turned two and I was prego with Carter. We had so much fun! Ty was at the perfect age.

A little curious how this trip will be with Carter in tow. He is three months younger than Ty was last trip and completely oblivious to the characters--should be interesting. Can't wait!

Craft Shows

Well, I survived my first two craft shows! They actually went really well. I picked two small shows to start with, just to get my feet wet and see how the whole thing worked. I didn't do too bad, considering everyone told me spring shows can be really slow. I actually got ton of custom orders, but people seemed to like the boards too. Best of all, I was able to do a lot of networking and learn what steps I want to take next. Thanks Keith and Stephanie for your help!

Last Chapel Day

The last Wednesday of every month Ty has "chapel" at school. For the last 1/2 hour of the school day parents and family can come to the chapel upstairs and the children perform all the songs they've been learning for the month. Priceless!

Since school ends mid-May they had their May chapel this week. Unforunately I didn't bring my Nikon, so I only had my point in shoot in my purse, so my zoom pictures are horrible, but I had to capture the moment. Ty LOVES to perform and his facial expressions are hilarious! So dramatic! Hard to believe their is only one week left for school (Ty will miss the official last week because we'll be in Disney)

It was also Indians day, hence the Indians jersey--thanks Grandma Noll!

Ty's First Soccer Game

Ty had his first soccer practice and game today! He has been so pumped ever since we bought his ball and shin guards! I was so bummed I had to miss it (I had registered for a craft show before I knew when his games would be), but my parents took him and Keith met him there after his football game. Thank fully Keith and my parents took lots of pictures and video.

Apparently he did really well! The first half the children do practice drills with their parents (or Grandpa in Ty's case). The second half of the hour they divide into teams and have a "game." I put "game" in quotes because there are no goalies or much organization, just a big lump of orange running around a field, chasing a ball.

I wasn't sure what to expect because the big joke in our family is watching Chase play when he was Ty's age--while the "lump" ran around the field, you could usually find Chase and his best friend doing their own thing (usually playing Batman or Ninja Turtles) on the other end of the field, not much interested in where the ball was. I am quote impressed with Ty though. Each play he was right there in the middle of the lump, chasing the ball and many times even kicking it. I can't wait for next week when I can actually see him play in person.

SICK!

Sorry, boring post. Still no pictures. I've been a totally slacker lately!
Saturday was my first craft show and it went really well! Not a ton of traffic (figures it was the first really nice day in weeks!), but I sold enough and was able to really get the word out and do some great "networking." I was so mad I forgot my camera. I have another one this Saturday, so I'll be sure to take pics.
Been a crazy week. Monday Keith left for Chicago, so it was just me and the boys. By Tuesday we were not getting along! I wasn't feeling great and they were super crabby! By Wednesday we were all in the doctor's office--bad case of strep throat for me (and maybe mono--oh I hope not) and impetigo for Ty. Fun! Atleast I know why we haven't been getting along! So now Keith is home and we are just trying to recover.
Should be a good weekend. I have another craft show and Ty has his first soccer game. I'll post pictures for sure.

Jack Pot!

I wish I had pictures of all the loot my sister hooked the boys up with while she was here last week. Each of the Easter "buckets" were filled to the brim with candy, stickers, books, games....you name it. The boys loved it!

She also brought their Christmas gifts (since we haven't seen her since Thanksgiving). I couldn't believe how much stuff they kept pulling out! She did an adorable camping theme (we just got a tent for camping this year). It was complete with flash lights, a compass/magnifying glass, books, blanket, mess kit, real telescope, lantern, head light (Ty's favorite!!), ant farm, Spiderman tackle box, canteens...you name it, it was in their. The boys were in heaven!

My favorite, she also got them the Scripture Scouts cd's. I have always wanted to get this, but just haven't. Seriously, it is a total score!!! Ty loves them. We just started listening to them yesterday in the car and he is already singning all the songs and talking about Nephi! So cute!

Happy Easter...Part 2

Next stop...the Bielozer's. More ham, more cheesy potatoes, more carrot cake, more eggs, more candy....

Here are the winners of Grandma's Easter egg hunt. My boys were pretty much hunted out at this point, but they still loved the goodies from Grandma. Ty got a really cool remote control car that does flips and Carter loved his singing bunny (and Mac's (the dog) ball).

Since it's very rare that everyone is together (especially with all the boys different work shifts), Mary thought it would be fun to take a group picture. Keith's aunt must have taken 15 pictures, and this is the only one that almost everyone was looking and most people were smiling (except for Ty, he was showing his angry face--he was definitely done with all the holiday fun!)

Happy Easter...Part 1

HAPPY EASTER!!

After church (which, by the way, we were still late to) we geared up for 2 more Easter Egg hunts, and 2 Easter dinners. Neither Keith nor I are willing to give up our families on holidays, so we always end up doing things twice. I guess we are lucky that we have that option!

So first stop...my parents. Whitney flew in Saturday night and the boys loved having her around! Of course I had to do a family photo shoot! I had originally gotten really cute outfits for the boys to wear, but then Keith's mom, Mary, surprised us with these little suits for the boys. Probably not what I would have picked out in the stores, but the boys looked adorable in them (of course)!

My mom had an Easter Egg hunt for the boys and they loved it, of course. They each got an Easte basket with two adorable Nike outfits (Ty's favorite!) each. Thanks mom for not filling it with too much candy!

Saturday Morning

Sorry guys, I have been swamped with Simply Said orders and craft shows--which is a really good thing, but I haven't had a chance to update this. So here goes...

First, we woke up to this the day before Easter.....

No, this is not from Christmas morning, this really was April, although it is more snow than we had on Christmas. Our parents houses (just the next city over) had even more!

Since we can hardly make it to 9am church on time on a normal day, we decided to "write" the Easter bunny Friday night and ask him to come to our house Saturday morning, so we could make it to church on time Sunday. Of course, the Easter Bunny obliged, so we did our Easter Egg hunt and baskets on Saturday morning. I have to say it was really nice not to having to worry about getting to church after, the kids were able to just take their time and enjoy. And they definitely enjoyed!

We knew Ty would be excited, but Carter was unexpectedly excited! He ran around the house saying "Ooh Ooh" and "Ba! Ba!"--he thought the eggs were balls. Both the boys had a blast finding all of the eggs and other presents the bunny had hid.

To nobody's surprise, Carter liked the eggs with candy the best!

Dying Easter Eggs

Ty was so pumped to dye eggs this year. He has been asking for a month now if we had enough Easter eggs. Anytime we used an egg he would make sure we weren't going to run out for Easter. So after a trip to the park, we decided to get the boys in their p.j.'s and dye our eggs for Family Home Evening. Hopefully they last until Sunday!

Ty was so into it. He concentrated and had a plan for each egg. Carter wasn't sure exactly what we were doing, but if Ty was doing it, he wanted to too. He made a mess with the dye (surprised?), so we ended up giving him a cup of water and a pink plastic egg. Tons of fun!

Dominic's Birthday Party

Sunday was yes, another birthday party! This time we went down to Akron for my cousin Nikki's little boy's birthday. Dominic just turned three and had an all out Wiggles birthday party. The boys feel asleep on the way down, so Carter was VERY crabby when we first got there, but we all ended up having a great time!

I was in charge of the video camera, so I didn't get too many pictures at the party, but it was a beautiful day so we all walked down to the park where I got to snap a few pictures.

Getting ready for another week now. Looking forward to Easter and Whitney coming to town!

First Easter Egg Hunt of the Season

I don't care how warm it is all week, it will always be freezing the day of the Westlake Rec Center's Easter Egg Hunt! Last year we all had our winter coats and gloves on. At least this Saturday we could get by with jackets, but it was still freezing! This weather is being so cruel to us!

The boys loved the hunt, even if it was freezing! Carter wasn't sure what to do with the eggs on the ground, but definitely knew what to do with the candy! We let Ty go in with the older age group, since their were chances for bigger prizes. He held his own with the big kids and filled his basket. He broke my heart when he told me some kids tried to steal his candy when he accidently knocked his basket over and spilled some. He seemed okay about it, but you just hate to hear of anyone being anything but 100% nice to your kids!

After the hunt we went to a birthday party for one of Keith's employees and then the boys and I hung out at Zach and Lisa's for awhile while Keith watched the OSU game.

Keith had a meeting at church that evening, so I had gotten a chick flick for myself. Some how Ty talked me into waiting up for Keith in my room, so we snuggled together and watched Step Up. It was a perfect evening!
